Endocrine is Everything: Diabetes, Growth, Puberty, Sex, and Bones
Description

Endocrine concerns greatly impact many people with CF and are often difficult to manage on top of everything else. Join this expert panel of CF researchers and clinicians to explore both pediatric and adult endocrine issues and concerns, including growth and puberty, the different impact on men’s and women’s health, the impact of steroid use on bone health, and CF-related diabetes. Through this session the panelists will shine a light on the large community of researchers, clinicians, and patients who are passionate about these topics and how they are leading the way in further study. You will learn where and how to find resources to help advocate for yourself or your loved one’s endocrine-related conditions, expand your knowledge of the science and physiology of the endocrine system, and understand what research is being done for endocrine concerns and how people with CF can get involved. The information presented at this session will be at an advanced level, so attendees should have a basic understanding of endocrine system science and physiology. This session may not be suitable for minors, as it will cover puberty and sexual health.
