Kristen Angell was one of her cousin's primary caregivers throughout her transplant journey. She is the associate director of advocacy for the National Organization for Rare Disorders and has been a freelance graphic designer for over 20 years. In her spare time, she lends her design and non-profit expertise to numerous charitable organizations within her own community. She lives with her fiancé, soon-to-be stepdaughter, and their fur babies in Southbury, Conn.
