Speaking in Laymen’s Germs: Recent developments in CF lung infection causes, diagnostics, and treatment
Description

Many people with CF, and those who care for and about them, want to stay current on the causes, treatments, and consequences of CF lung infections. The CF Foundation supports a number of initiatives and efforts specifically focused on understanding the bacteria and fungus involved in CF lung infections past, present, and future; the best current tools to prevent and treat them; and promising future technologies. In this session we will give updates on the changing landscape of CF lung infections: The bugs most often found, the drugs available, and how CFTR modulators and other treatments are changing the way we diagnose and follow these infections for a growing number of people with CF. We’ll review some of the most promising treatments and diagnostic techniques recently supported and discussed by the Foundation’s Infection Research Initiative (IRI) and Detection and Diagnosis (D&D) groups. We look forward to sharing these new developments, trends, and perspectives, and to answer questions from the attendees.
