Bio
Semret Seyoum is a Senior Research Associate at George Washington University (GW). She is Co-PI of the CF Health Insurance Study (CF HIS). CF HIS is a mixed-methods research project funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation that explores insurance coverage and access to care issues for the Cystic Fibrosis population, such as unmet medical need, food insecurity, and financial burden. Her work at GW centers on health policy research related to coverage and access to care for vulnerable populations. In a project for Missouri Foundation for Health on the state’s COVID-19 response, she helps to lead analysis with the aim to modernize the health care system and promote equity. She previously managed a mixed-methods, comparative research project funded by the Patient-Center Outcomes Research Institute on models of cancer survivorship care, and a qualitative research project funded by Kaiser Permanente on collaborations around value based payment systems between hospitals and community health centers serving the safety net. Semret is a PhD candidate in the Public Policy and Public Administration program at GW, with a concentration in Health Policy. She received her Masters in Public Health from Columbia University.
