Dr. Kara Foshay, PhD is an academically trained translational scientist who gets excited about three-dimensional disease models, stem cells, gene regulation, and developing biological technologies. She received her PhD from Georgetown University and completed her postdoctoral studies as an NICHD NRSA fellow at the University of Chicago. Prior to joining the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation she led a neuro-oncology research lab, focused on development of a personalized drug screening platform, at the Inova Neuroscience and Spine Institute in Falls Church, Va. Aside from her scientific achievements, Kara is a skilled cake decorator, home chef, and foodie – pastimes she balances with her love of yoga and running. Kara lives in Arlington, Va., with her two children and husband of 17 years.
