What Gets in the Way? Starting Conversations with Your Care Team about Sustaining Daily Care
Description

Everyone has times when it is harder to complete treatments but bringing this fact into a conversation with your care team can be challenging. The Daily Care Check-In (DCC) is a guide for people with CF, family members, and their care teams to have successful and ongoing conversations with their care teams about sustaining daily treatments. During this workshop, CF researchers, clinicians, and community members will discuss the research behind the DCC, its benefits and how it works, and how it was shaped by community feedback. Speakers will also demonstrate how individuals and families can use the DCC to start conversations with their care team during clinic visits about what may be getting in the way of their treatments. During facilitated breakouts, attendees will discuss when they would consider using the DCC with their care team and how it might aid in having productive conversations that might otherwise feel intimidating or uncomfortable. Attendees will also have an opportunity to shape the final DCC toolkit by providing insight on community resources.
