This session will empower people with CF, their caregivers, and clinicians by sharing data-driven lifespan updates, CF Foundation clinical guidelines, and research on transition points to help guide life decisions. Attendees will learn how to apply this information to the CF care experience. We will start by examining current epidemiological research trends, using data from the Cystic Fibrosis Patient Registry. We will then provide a brief overview of the process used to publish clinical care guidelines, focusing on new guidelines regarding advanced lung disease and palliative care. Our community member panel and clinicians will share ways to utilize these guidelines to enhance the patient-clinician partnership. Finally, we will focus on the evolving nature of CF care teams. Specifically, we will hear directly from a pediatric and adult CF pharmacist, who will outline how including a pharmacist on a CF care team can improve the ongoing care experience.
