George M. Solomon (“Marty”) is an adult pulmonologist and clinical/translational researcher at UAB. After completing his fellowship at University of Colorado/National Jewish Health, Dr. Solomon returned to UAB as a research fellow in 2014. Since joining the faculty at UAB, Dr. Solomon has focused his clinical work on the care of CF and non-CF bronchiectasis patients. He established the UAB bronchiectasis program and directed the UAB adult CF center from 2017-2022. He then transitioned to the role of associate director of the UAB CF Research Center and co-director of the TDN center and clinical trial unit. Dr. Solomon’s research focuses on understanding mucociliary biology using ex vivo epithialial cell and tissue models and understanding the biology of corrected CFTR function. As part of this work he is the co-lead PI for the PROMISE and RARE CFTR studies.
