Julie Desch, MD is a 62-year-old partner, mom, and volunteer with cystic fibrosis. She retired from medicine in her late 30’s in order to care for her new baby and stay alive. This plan worked, and she now spends much of her time learning about and teaching mindfulness to the CF community, reading and marveling at CF research, staying as fit as possible, laughing with (and at) her two grown children, and playing with her three dogs. She lives with her partner in the San Francisco Bay Area.
