Audience: CF Adults, Partners/Spouses
The keynote will set the stage for the first portion of CF FamilyCon for adults with CF and their partners. Hear from one married couple that has navigated the ups and downs of blending families, caregiving through transplant, and other challenges while supporting an intimate relationship. You'll also hear from a single adult with CF about how they define family, how they use the support of friends to create a family, and how they explore the decision to date or not to date.
Is there a topic (any topic!) you want to talk about with other FamilyCon attendees? Share it in the chat room, and if others want to talk about it, a video chat link will be made available for your group. Debrief the day’s topics, or connect about hobbies, interests, or any other aspect of life.
The second half of CF FamilyCon (5:15-10 p.m. ET | 4:15-9 p.m. CT | 3:15-8 p.m. MT | 2:15-7 p.m. PT) will focus on understanding how CF affects family dynamics and is open to anyone touched by CF who may have questions, frustrations, ideas, or just needs someone else who understands their perspective. No matter what your family looks like or who you consider to be family, you can find support and connection.
An Inside Look: Connections and Conversations about Living with CF
This keynote will celebrate the relationships that our lives with cystic fibrosis depend on. We will be featuring real conversations that people living with CF are having with their loved ones, who are on the front lines of care and support, about the everyday moments that make up their lives together. These stories will be full of hope, laughter, and connection, and we hope they will empower you to have the same kinds of conversations with your loved ones. Everyone is welcome!
Join CF FamilyCon co-chairs Lynda Griffin and Anna McVey-Tyson as they close out the second annual event with special guest Ashley Ballou-Bonnema. Ashley, an adult with CF, professional vocalist, private voice instructor, and executive director of Breathe Bravely, will debut the original and powerful work of the sINgSPIRE Virtual Choir: a powerful group of singers defying CF by joining their voices together as a collaboration of strength, tenacity, and unified unrelenting hope.
