Aliyah is an adult living with cystic fibrosis who was diagnosed after complications at birth. She is a licensed social worker based in the Philadelphia area. She currently works as a child and family play therapist in a private group practice. Aliyah earned a master’s degree in social work at the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in dance at Temple University. She has been a member of the Patient and Family Advisory Council at her CF clinic since 2019 and enjoys speaking with first-year medical students about her experiences with CF. She also enjoys singing in Breathe Bravely’s virtual choir. Aliyah lives with her husband, Mark, their polydactyl cat, Mr. Boots, and their newest addition, Sammy, a super cuddly Cavapoo.
