April is a dance-maker, performer, teaching artist, writer, and disability consultant. She is originally from the Timucuan/Seminole territory in the South (now known as Jacksonville, FL), and currently lives on the stolen lands of the Kiikaapoi peoples (known as Milwaukee, WI).She is a development consultant to Rutgers University's Integrated Dance Minor. She is a published dance critic and poet, and directs a virtual writing collective. April holds a BFA in Dance from Florida State University, an MFA in Dance from Ohio State University, and an MFA in Poetry from The New School.
April is the founder of the Intersectional CF Coalition, a group of CF'ers who have come together to address marginalization within the CF community. Throughout her lifetime, April has been active in CF events as a participant, speaker, facilitator, and organizer, and is proud to be a part of the extended CF family. She lives with her beautiful wife, Raven, and their cat and two dogs. On August 15th, she will be 18 years post-double lung transplant.
