Description

The journey to social change begins within, when we start to think about what kind of a world we want to live in and begin to put other people and their lives ahead of ourselves. But these journeys are not easy as we each may come to grips with the scary reality of our own biases and prejudices. Being chronically ill can make participating in activism and social change a bit more complicated. Regardless of these struggles, members of our community are pushing their limits and finding ways to build a more anti-racist, anti-transphobic, and inclusive world and CF community. Listen to their stories, and together we can begin to build pathways to freedom for others in our communities.

Session Objectives
  1. Discuss how you arrived at wanting to engage in anti-racist activism and where you find hurdles or frustrations.
  2. Expand our understanding of what activism looks like.
  3. Explore ways to be an active and powerful advocate while keeping your mental and physical health a top priority.
  4. Provide strategies to engage in activism as a chronically ill person during a pandemic.
  5. Discuss why social justice is important to the CF community.
