Kathy Cooney has been a member of the CF Care team since 2005. She specializes in mental health care with specific training in acceptance commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy and mindfulness based interventions. Kathy has supported the implementation of the mental health guidelines in CF as the co-facilitator of the CFF Mental Health Coordinator Mentoring program. She was also started the Mental Health Peer Consultation Groups that have supported mental health care in CF across the US. Currently, she is interested expanding clinical practice that addresses patient well-being and improving access to palliative social work care.
