Laura Tillman

Laura Tillman has a master’s degree in educational psychology and a specialist’s degree in school psychology. She worked as a certified school psychologist for 24 years with an emphasis on early intervention (birth through age six) and autism. She became involved with CF in 1995 when she was diagnosed with CF. Since then, she has been involved in volunteer activities for various CF organizations, both state and national. She served on the board of directors of the United States Adult Cystic Fibrosis Association starting in 2003 as a board member, recording secretary, and president. She continues her involvement with the organization by contributing the “Information from the Internet” column in their quarterly newsletter, CF Roundtable. Laura was also involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Research, Inc. organization for a number of years. She volunteered with the medical school at the University of Michigan for its Family Centered Experience, providing first and second year medical students with the opportunity to learn what it’s like to live with a chronic disease. Additionally, she serves as a patient advisor on two committees at the University of Michigan hospital, is a member of the CF Foundation Mental Health Advisory Committee, and volunteers at her local library.
