Lynne M. Quittell earned a bachelor's degree from Hampshire College and received her medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine of Tel Aviv University. She completed a pediatric residency at the Schneider Children’s Hospital of Long Island Jewish Medical Center and fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Dr. Quittell joined the faculty of Columbia University in 1988 and was the director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center at Columbia University from 1991-2011. Dr. Quittell has served on multiple national committees including the American Thoracic Society Planning Committee and the CF Center Director’s Committee. She is the associate director of the Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) for the CF Foundation and has served as DSMB chair for several National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute sponsored studies. She has contributed to the development of clinical guidelines for CF.
