Shelby is a 30-year-old with CF who was born and raised in Saint Louis, Mo. Diagnosed at one, she has grown up with two rare mutations (N1303k/Mediterranean and 2184insA/Ukrainian), one of which didn’t get fully named until 2010. Growing up relatively healthy, with things taking a drastic turn around age 20, she has developed a broad range of knowledge when it comes to CF, with a lot of research, journaling, and testing. Shelby also has Celiac disease and other autoimmune-induced issues. Her background includes being a pharmacy tech, advocating for the final 10%, and working on many opportunities within the CF community, including Great Strides, committees, and being a speaker for a handful of CF projects. When she’s not devoting her time to her own health and advocacy, she enjoys genealogy with her mom, pre-COVID margaritas with friends, and being a part of her family's interest in classic car restoration and racing.
