Maddie lives in Minneapolis with her boyfriend, Kevin, and dog, Nino. She received a bachelor's degree in both biology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is currently working on a master's degree in public health in epidemiology at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She has worked in several research labs, investigating stem cell research, pharmaceutical drug stability testing, and magnetic resonance imaging of CF lungs. Most recently, she was a part of the Minnesota foodborne illness surveillance team. Maddie has participated in Great Strides and other Cystic Fibrosis Foundation fundraisers nearly every year of her life. She has worked with the Research Summary Review Committee in the past and is a member of the Community Review Committee and the Women's Health Research Working Group. When she's feeling well, she likes to make art, listen to music, and enjoy the outdoors. She's hoping to be listed for a double lung transplant soon and looks forward to getting back to playing soccer and tennis, snowboarding, hiking, and traveling once she receives "new" lungs.
